Baseball is full of bizarre coincidences: For the second time in five years, a game between the Cardinals and Cubs is being postponed due to the death of a Cardinal pitcher. In 2002, 33 year-old right-hander Daryl Kile died of coronary artery disease in Chicago. Early this morning 29 year-old right-handed reliever Josh Hancock was killed in an automobile accident in St. Louis. Hancock was only the third active-roster major leaguer to die during the regular season in the last 30 years.
The thoughts and prayers of the Cardinal Nation are with Josh Hancock’s family.
