LaRussa Passes Schoendienst

Rick Ankiel’s sixth inning grand slam helped seal Tony LaRussa’s 1,042nd career win as the manager of the St. Louis Cardinals. That breaks the previous Cardinal mark set by Hall-of-Famer Red Schoendienst. With more the 2,300 career wins, 2 World Series championships and the distinction of being only the second manager to win a championship in both leagues, it is only a matter of time before Tony joins Red and the other Cardinal greats in the Hall of Fame.

Congratulations, Tony!
